Five Chiefs Upgraded On Latest Injury Report

The Kansas City Chiefs look to be in better shape for Thursday night’s showdown with the Philadelphia Eagles after upgrading five players on the latest injury report. Andy Reid’s team does still have issues at tight end that could leave them without their top two at the position.

Starters Brandon Flowers and Branden Albert improved on the second day of practice after being unable to practice. Flowers was a limited participant, while Albert was a full participant. Mike Devito moved from a limited participant to a full participant while dealing with a neck stinger.

Tight end Travis Kelce was upgraded to a limited participant, while linebacker James-Michael Johnson is now a full participant. Both were among those unable to practice Monday.

Kelce isn’t the only tight end still having injury issues. Starter Anthony Fasano’s ankle kept him on the sidelines for a second straight day and has to be considered a long shot to play against the Eagles at this point.

Even if the Chiefs are able to get Kelce healthy enough to play, it’s tough to expect much from the rookie. He’s been active each of the first two weeks, but hasn’t contributed at all on offense.

We’ll see the final designations Wednesday and that should give us a better idea of who will be ready to go in Philadelphia.
