Top Two Chiefs Tight Ends Inactive vs. Eagles

The Kansas City Chiefs have released their list of seven inactive players for tonight’s game against the Philadelphia Eagles. Unfortunately for Andy Reid, he’ll be short at tight end in his first game against his former team.

Inactive:

QB Tyler Bray, TE Anthony Fasano, LB Nico Johnson, TE Travis Kelce, C Eric Kush, DT Jaye Howard and LB Josh Martin

The good news for the Chiefs is CB Brandon Flowers is able to play after testing his knee before the game. As defensive coordinator Bob Sutton tries to slow down the high powered Eagles offense, he’ll need all the help he can get in the secondary.

The bad news is the top two tight ends are both out. Fasano hadn’t practiced all week and was unlikely to play, but the team had held out hope that Kelce would be able to give it a go. Without the rookie suiting up, they’ll have to rely on Sean McGrath and the recently signed Kevin Brock.

Also inactive is Johnson, a player some thought (myself included) could challenge for a starting spot next to Derrick Johnson at linebacker. Instead he’s gone from unable to play because of an ankle injury to nearly a healthy scratch.

With Reid looking for more options in the passing game, we’ll see WR Chad Hall for the first time this season. Like the Chiefs head coach, Hall is a former Eagle returning to his former stomping grounds, looking to make an impact.
