Kansas City Chiefs owner Clark Hunt and quarterback Matt Cassel will continue the franchise’s tradition of helping in the community when they take part in tonight’s series finale of the ABC show “Extreme Makeover: Home Edition”.
For the first time ever, the show is rebuilding an entire neighborhood, putting up seven houses in tornado-ravaged Joplin in just seven days.
Many Chiefs have made the trip down to Joplin since the disaster struck on May 22 and the appearance by Hunt and Cassel is just one more example of what this team has always done right. I’m the first to criticize the Kansas City owner for his unwillingness to open his check book for free agents, but he — like his father before him — has made sure the team is always first in line to offer help for those that need it in the community.
Even more amazing than all of the work the Chiefs have done in Joplin since May is that they will continue long after every member of the press is gone.
