Former Chief Craphonso Thorpe Resurfaces

After being selected by the Kansas City Chiefs in the fourth round of the 2005 NFL Draft, wide receiver Craphonso Thorpe has been pretty much everywhere in the NFL.  Now he’s taking his game to another league altogether.

Thorpe is working out as a member of the UFL’s New York Sentinels this week as training camp opened in Orlando.CraphonsoThorpe

It’s just another stop on his vagabond tour that has seen him on NFL rosters in Kansas City, Houston, Detroit, Indianapolis, Jacksonville, New York (Giants) and Tennessee.  He even ventured to Winnipeg (CFL) briefly this summer.  All this since 2005.

“I’m not really one to make excuses about why things didn’t work out here or there,” Thorpe said.  “And at the end of the day, I don’t really take things personally.  It’s the NFL.  I know it’s a business out here.”

He had a quick cup of coffee with the injury-riddled Colts in 2007.  Thorpe played the final five games, catching 12 passes, including one touchdown.

The Chiefs have been looking at a lot of receivers lately.  Maybe Thorpe can make his NFL comeback with the Chiefs…

Maybe not.
