Former Kansas City Chiefs TE T.C. Drake was seriously injured this weekend when his motorcycle was struck by a woman driving under the influence.
According to an accident report, around 9 p.m. Sunday, Drake was riding a motorcycle on U.S. 62 in Nelson County.
Police said 35-year-old Jennifer Reed made a left-hand turn into Drake’s lane of travel.
Drake’s motorcycle struck Reed’s Ford Taurus in the passenger side doors, ejecting him from his motorcycle, police said.
According to the accident report, Drake was not wearing a helmet and suffered severe head injuries.
He was airlifted to University of Louisville Hospital, where he is currently listed in serious condition.
Terrible news for the undrafted free agent that spent two weeks on the Chiefs roster last season.
Here is hoping that Drake has a speedy recovery and people take two things away from the accident: don’t drive under the influence and wear a helmet whenever you are on your motorcycle, no matter how fast you will be going.
