The Kansas City Chiefs players aren’t the only ones that have the weekend off. Their broadcast team is also free to do as they please this weekend, including former Chiefs long snapper Kendall Gammon. He has taken the trip to Wales to check out the Ryder Cup and spoke to Reuters about the trip.
“This really is one of the best places I’ve ever seen to watch golf,” Kendall Gammon told Reuters as he and friend Tim Sinclair cheered Jim Furyk’s stunning approach to the last that allowed partner Rickie Fowler to snatch a half from Lee Westwood and Martin Kaymer.
“It’s so impressive. Whoever designed this course and especially this finishing straight did a great job. It’s like being on a football terrace and the atmosphere is crazy.
“What I like too is how the fans are so dedicated here. They just stand for hours and make camp. They’re not just here for autographs and beer, they really are into the golf.”
How long do you think it will be this week before Gammon finds Haley to talk a little Ryder Cup with him?
We all know Haley’s history with golf, but I had no idea Gammon was such a big fan. It’s not often someone associated with the NFL will fly across the Atlantic Ocean to see a golf tournament.
