Leading up to the season opener on Monday Night Football, the Kansas City Chiefs told fans to be in their seats well before kickoff. Now back at Arrowhead, the Chiefs are providing another reason for you to cut your tailgating short on Sunday.
Bill Grigsby, the long-time Chiefs broadcaster, will be honored in a pregame ceremony Sunday when the Chiefs play the San Francisco 49ers at Arrowhead Stadium.
Grigsby had a 62-year career as a broadcaster before retiring at the end of last season.
This is great news for multiple reasons.
Not just because Grigsby is so deserving of this kind of honor, but because he recently was reported to be in poor health as he battles Prostate Cancer. This hopefully means we will see Grigs at the 50-yard line looking as good as ever.
