The Kansas City Chiefs final injury report for Sunday’s game against the New York Giants includes nine players, headlined by four starters listed as questionable.
With the Giants bringing a dangerous group of wide receivers into Arrowhead Stadium, the biggest concern for the Chiefs right now has to be cornerback Brandon Flowers and safety Kendrick Lewis. Defensive coordinator has solid depth in the secondary, but losing two starters is hard for any unit to overcome.
The Chiefs could finally get Anthony Fasano, their starting tight end, back after he missed the last two games with an ankle injury. He wasn’t able to practice fully at all this week, but getting onto the field even on a limited basis is a big step forward for Fasano.
Guard Jeff Allen went down in the Chiefs win over the Philadelphia Eagles with a strained groin and has been unable to practice throughout the week. Thankfully Kansas City can sub in veteran Geoff Schwartz, who will help the offensive line keep moving without missing a beat.
Despite the number of players included on the final injury report, the good news is four are probable and should all play. Starting fullback and Anthony Sherman and tackle Branden Albert being all but guaranteed to play will go a long way towards giving running back Jamaal Charles what he needs to put in a big day.
