13 Players On Chiefs First Injury Report
The Kansas City Chiefs own one of the biggest injury reports in the NFL as they kicked off practice for Sunday’s matchup against the New Orleans Saints. Among the 13 players listed, four starters were unable to practice or limited.
Two of the three tight ends that were active against the Buffalo Bills — Kevin Boss and Jake O’Connell — were unable to practice. Boss won’t be able to do anything for a couple of days, so even if O’Connell returns before the end of the week, this is a huge opportunity for fourth-string TE Steve Maneri. Maneri made the 53-man roster out of training camp, but was inactive for both of the Chiefs first two games.
There was some good news among the Chiefs massive list of injuries. While Jamaal Charles is on the report, he was a full participant, which is obviously great news for the struggling Kansas City offense.
Then of course there’s Brandon Flowers, who was left off Wednesday’s initial injury report after missing the entire preseason, the first game of the regular season and was leading the Chiefs injury report each of the past two weeks.
Even though the Saints injury report is headlined by Drew Brees, he was a full participant and will be on the field Sunday ready to attack the Chiefs defense. As a whole, despite having seven players listed, no impact players are expected to miss the game.
