Chiefs running back Jamaal Charles, who has been dealing with a chronic shoulder problem since his high school days, will have surgery this week according to his hometown newspaper.
Jamaal Charles is headed back to Missouri to have shoulder surgery on Wednesday. When KC starts its off-season workouts, he’ll have to adjust to a new offensive coordinator — former Notre Dame head coach Charlie Weis. Charles and his former Memorial High School teammate Danny Gorrer are planning a June 25-26 football game in Port Arthur for kids in grades 5 through 12.
You never want to see a guy go under the knife, but it’s good to see this decision was made early on in the offseason so that Charles has plenty of time to recover for OTAs.
It got to a point this season where you just expected to see Charles go off to the sidelines during a game to have his shoulder popped back into place. Hopefully this surgery will solve the problem for good.
