It would appear tackle Jared Gaither is making his way around the AFC West.
Following his release from the Baltimore Ravens, Gaither visited with the Oakland Raiders and was going to sign there before the team determined he wasn’t yet healthy. He then landed with the Kansas City Chiefs, where he would serve as the backup to Branden Albert and Barry Richardson.
The Chiefs cut ties with Gaither earlier in the week and it appears he will be getting to know his third team within the division. The San Diego Chargers were awarded Gaither on waivers and he will take the place of starting left tackle Marcus McNeill who was placed on injured reserve.
Clearly the Raiders and Chiefs (though it took them 12 weeks) didn’t feel Gaither had much to offer on the field and now the Chargers are taking a chance they were both wrong.
