The Kansas City Chiefs have put injured S Jarrad Page on Injured Reserve and signed CB Travis Daniels.
Page has played in 53 games for the Chiefs over four seasons including 39 starts. He had been dealing with a shoulder injury, but it is a new injury to his calf that ended his season.
Daniels has played in 51 games with the Miami Dolphins and Cleveland Browns including 26 starts. He was with the Chiefs this season during training camp but was part of the final cuts.
With Jon McGraw also nursing an injury, the Chiefs have been working CB Maurice Leggett some this week at FS. Daniels also could provide some help, as he started a game at safety for the Dolphins in 2007.
I have no idea what the Chiefs will do at FS if McGraw is unable to play against the Jaguars Sunday. You would think they brought Daniels in to play, so he would be the first option. But could DaJuan Morgan shift over from SS and handle the load? I’ve wanted to see more of Morgan, I just didn’t think he’s have to play out of position to do it.
Leggett would be interesting. He has struggled as the nickel corner and maybe just needs a fresh view of the field to get back on track.
Todd Haley’s press conference today should be very telling.
