The Kansas City Chiefs have released their list of 8 inactive players for today’s game against the San Francisco 49ers.
CB Jackie Bates, FB Mike Cox, S Reshard Langford, LB Charlie Anderson, LB Justin Cole, DE Alex Magee, DE Tyson Jackson, RT Ryan O’Callaghan
It was expected for Jackson and O’Callaghan to once again be out, but it’s a mild surprise to see Magee back to the inactive list. With the team so thin along the defensive line, it says a lot about his progress — or lack thereof — that he still can’t help this team every Sunday.
Good to see McGraw is going to be back on the field, though hopefully rookie Kendrick Lewis continues to get the majority of the playing time next to Eric Berry. As we’ve seen, it’s very dangerous having two rookies at safety, but it is also a great learning experience as these two learn the ropes together.
With McGraw back in the fold, it’s easier for the Chiefs to sit Langford down. He was a late addition to this week’s injury report with an ankle issue and even though he isn’t a main component to the defense, he would have been needed if McGraw couldn’t go.
