After being out of the NFL for three seasons former Chief Junior Siavii got a chance to play in Dallas in 2009 and now has signed on to spend a second year with the Cowboys.
Siavii, a nose tackle who had 11 tackles in a backup role behind All-Pro Jay Ratliff, signed his original-round tender worth $1.226 million.
To say I was skeptical of Siavii’s chances to stick with the Cowboys would be putting it nicely. Not that his 11 tackles makes me yearn for him in Kansas City, but after seeing how ineffective he was with the Chiefs it’s impressive that he was able to get into every game for the Cowboys this past season.
He might not be making Albert Haynesworth money, but I think most Chiefs fans would agree Siavii looked poised to never make more than the Arena League minimum.
