The Kansas City Chiefs have until Tuesday to trim their roster down to 80 players, but they got a jump on things Monday by announcing they have waived seven players:
LB Eric Bakhtiari, RB Tervaris Johnson, DB Javes Lewis, WR Chris Manno, WR Josue Paul, DB Mario Russell and WR Chandler Williams.
With the roster sitting at 82, there are still two more cuts that have to be made before 3:00pm Tuesday and then the final cut down on Saturday to the 53-man roster.
No huge shocks here as Bakhtiari is the only player that stood out in the preseason, but he has been hampered with a head injury.
It’s interesting that the team didn’t get all the way down to 80 yet, meaning they are likely still having trouble deciding who they want to get a look at on Thursday.
