Before free agency kicks off on Tuesday, the Kansas City Chiefs came to terms with one of their own players, re-signing DL Amon Gordon to a two-year deal.
Gordon was a pleasant surprise this past season, his first with the Chiefs, playing in all 16 games, starting two. Gordon’s agent, Angelo Wright, told Josina Anderson the team showed how much they wanted him back for a second season.
“The Chiefs felt like Amon played a key role on their defensive line, and they were aggressive in bringing him back into the fold.”
GM Scott Pioli will still be looking for depth along the line, especially in the middle, but Gordon is a great guy to have back. He was able to get the job done inside and out on his way to a career-best 23 tackles.
Since coming into the NFL back in 2004, Gordon expressed to Anderson how excited he is to be able to stick with a team, his sixth.
“I am just excited for the opportunity to have found a real home after all these years.”
