The Kansas City Chiefs brought back a familiar face Wednesday when the signed free agent TE Anthony Becht. A roster spot opened for Becht after the team waived second-year WR Jeremy Horne on Tuesday.
Becht left a broadcasting career to join the Chiefs at the end of training but was released during final cuts. He was re-signed (the first time) after the first game of the season, but was released two weeks later after he was hurt in the Chiefs loss to the San Diego Chargers.
Last time he was signed/released, he swapped places with fellow TE Jake O’Connell. This time O’Connell stays on the roster (for now) and Kansas City will go forward with Leonard Pope, Becht and O’Connell at tight end.
There is still one open spot left on the practice squad that the team will look to fill over the next couple of days.
