Kansas City Chiefs Select Cameron Sheffield, OLB, Troy

With the 11th pick (142 overall) in the fifth round of the 2010 NFL Draft, the Kansas City Chiefs selected OLB Cameron Sheffield from Troy.

Scouts Inc. assigned a rating of 52 to Sheffield and ranked him as the 18th best OLB.

You can check out his School profile here.

Scott Pioli finally adds to the Chiefs linebackers and does it with a guy that knows how to get off the line of scrimmage quickly.  He probably could have been had in the 6th or maybe even the 7th round, but as we know Kansas City is currently out of draft picks.

For a team looking at versatile players, you can lineup Sheffield at linebacker or at defensive end in rushing situations.  Great player to take a chance on with your final pick.

I hope he enjoyed crushing Tim Tebow in that photo above, because he’ll have plenty of chances to do it again and again if he catches on in Kansas City.
