Royals Change Game Time To Accomodate MNF
After the Kansas City Chiefs were awarded a game on Monday Night Football to showcase The New Arrowhead, immediately people wondered what the Royals would do with their 7:10 first pitch. As expected, the Royals have changed the start time to 2:10.
The usual 7:10 p.m. start at Kauffman Stadium created a conflict with the Chiefs’ season opener at 9:15 p.m. against the San Diego Chargers at Arrowhead Stadium.
The Royals are allowing fans who previously purchased tickets for Sept. 13 to exchange them by calling 816-504-4040 (option 3), through e-mail at ticketservices@royals.com or by visiting the Kauffman Stadium box office.
Adjusted parking details for Sept. 13 will be announced soon.
This was a no brainer and honestly, I’m surprised it took so long for the team to announce this decision. The Royals were unlikely to have a very big crowd to begin with so to think it would have been a parking Apocalypse is a bit over the top, but it just makes it easier for all parties involved.
Back when the MNF announcement was made, I said there would be more people tailgating during the Royals-A’s game than actual fans in the ballpark and I stand by that statement.
