It would appear Kansas City Chiefs WR Dwayne Bowe isn’t buying the idea GM Scott Pioli will draft another receiver in the first round and then pull his franchise tag. Either that or he’s confident he can make more than the $9.5 million guaranteed to him on the open market.
After PFT reported Bowe was considering signing his tender to protect himself from the tag being rescinded, NFL Network’s Jason LaCanfora says that’s not the case.
Dwayne Bowe has no plans to sign his franchise tag today, or anytime soon, contrary to a report.
We wondered this morning if the PFT story was just a move by Pioli and the Chiefs to put some pressure on Bowe and his agent. If that’s the case, clearly they aren’t biting and will continue to sit on the sideline until a long-term deal is worked out.
