This probably isn’t what most Kansas City Chiefs fans had in mind when they heard head coach Romeo Crennel and GM Scott Pioli talking about bringing in competition for Matt Cassel.
The Chiefs have scheduled a free agent visit with Brady Quinn, according to FOX Sports.
Quinn backed up Kyle Orton and then Tim Tebow last year with the Denver Broncos. In two years with the Broncos, Quinn never took the field. He was a first-round pick of the Browns in 2007 and appeared in 14 games during his three seasons in Cleveland.
Crennel was the head coach of the Browns when Quinn was drafted and the quarterback played four games during their time together, completing an uninspiring 48-of-97 for 563 yards and two touchdowns.
In an odd twist, new Chiefs RB Peyton Hillis was traded to the Browns in exchange for Quinn before the 2010 season.
Is someone that hasn’t taken a regular season snap since 2009 really capable of pushing Cassel?
