The Kansas City Chiefs have announced that Will Shields will be the team’s 2012 Hall of Fame inductee.

Shields was a finalist for the Pro Football Hall of Fame this past year, but just missed the cut. One of the best guards to ever play the game, he was one of the biggest snubs and should be able to get in next season on his second try.

He was named to the Pro Bowl 12 times, All-Pro nine times and a member of the NFL’s All-Decade Team for the 2000s.

In addition to the Chiefs Hall of Fame, Sheilds is already a member of the College Football Hall of Fame.

Congratulations to Shields on a much deserved honor!
