The Kansas City Chiefs have released their seven inactive players for Sunday’s game against the Cleveland Browns and they will be without just one of their injured starters.
WR Steve Breason, RB Nate Eachus, S Abe Elam, S Kendrick Lewis, NT Jerrell Powe, QB Ricky Stanzi, WR Devon Wylie
With Lewis and Elam both out, they Chiefs will need to get a big effort for undrafted free agent Tysyn Hartman, getting his first NFL start. He led the team in tackles last week and will get a chance to do the same this week with little depth left at safety.
Luckily for the Chiefs defense, they will have the services of Eric Berry, Brandon Flowers and Derrick Johnson all on the field trying to slow down Trent Richardson and the Browns offense.
There’s also good news along the offensive line with the banged up Branden Albert, Jeff Allen and Ryan Lilja all active. Like last week when the Chiefs lost players seemingly every other series on defense, keep an eye on the offensive line to see if they can hold up throughout the game.
Continuing to be healthy scratches, wide receivers Steve Breaston and Devon Wylie have no role on this team. At this point you have to wonder why the Chiefs bother to carry either on the roster these final weeks of the season.
