With the Kansas City Chiefs ready to get rolling with their offseason program, one of their newest members was a special guest of singer Kelis in Miami.
Kelis, in town for the Winter Music Conference, hosted a Belvedere Vodka dinner Thursday night in a private bungalow at the W South Beach to celebrate the launch of her upcoming album Flesh Tone, which has an electronic-house feel — ideal for clubs.
She also revealed her secret passion: Cooking. Kelis, who took a break from music two years ago to attend Le Cordon Bleu culinary school in California, actually created and cooked the evening’s menu: capurias stuffed with crab meat and apple jalapeño relish with sweet corn puree, fried red snapper with jasmine rice, and mango mousse en toile. Among her guinea pigs, who raved about the food: Interscope-Geffen-A&M Chairman Jimmy Iovine, DJ Benny Benassi, DJ Rashida, Chicago Bears player Adewale Ogunleye, and Kansas City Chiefs player Thomas Jones.
Great job by Jones. What do you do when you get bored with having any meal at any restaurant at any time? You have make a famous pop star cook for you!
