The Kansas City Chiefs and embattled running back Larry Johnson are working on a settlement to decide his future, Johnson’s agent told Kent Babb of The Kansas City Star.
Asked whether that settlement would involve a separation from the team, Schaffer said: “Not necessarily… There’s a lot of things in play, and nothing has been decided.”
When asked if he sees LJ playing for the Chiefs again: “Larry Johnson is a member of the Chiefs right now”
Schaffer said Johnson’s side is working on an appeal of the two-week suspension the team handed down Wednesday for detrimental conduct, but that settlement talks could delay the appeal.
“The best-case scenario is that we find a way to keep it positive,” said Shaffer.
To keep it positive? I don’t even know what that means. Though it shouldn’t be surprising, considering Shaffer didn’t know the language Johnson used was offensive.
No matter what the terms of the “settlement” end up being, as long as it includes Larry Johnson never playing another down for the Kansas City Chiefs it will be a success.
