Following the Chiefs 30 point loss to the San Diego Chargers, Larry Johnson took to his Twitter page to attack his head coach.
“My father played for the coach from ‘rememeber the titans’. Our coach played golf. My father played for redskins briefley. Our coach. Nuthn.”
Johnson continued the rant, and, in later responses directed toward Johnsons Twitter followers, contained inflammatory remarks about gays. In a reference to someones profile picture, Johnson called it a “f** pic” and called the person a “Christopher street boy,” a reference to a predominantly homosexual section in New Yorks Greenwich Village. Johnson’s Twitter profile was taken private and some posts were deleted.
He then decided to direct similar homophobic language towards the media in the Chiefs locker room today when they approached him for comment.
Johnson, sitting next to second-year running back Jamaal Charles, told reporters that “I’m not talking till Thursday,” his usual day of speaking with reporters.
Then Johnson turned away and whispered.
“Get your f****t ass out of here,” he said.
It’s so sad to see any professional athletes use that kind of language.
I think it’s fair to say that the “old LJ” is back and there probably never was a “new LJ”. He wants out, but I really hope that the team doesn’t grant him his release. Send him home and tell him to stay away from the team until the end of the season, but do not give him a chance to catch on with another team this season.
