Chiefs Sign Undrafted FA DT Lucas Patterson

The Kansas City Chiefs have signed undrafted free agent DT Lucas Patterson from Texas A&M.
Scouts Inc. assigned a rating of 30 to Patterson and ranked him as the 54th DT.
You can see his Texas A&M profile here.
The four-year contributor to the Aggies defense had his best as a senior with 50 tackles, three sacks and a forced fumble. However, Patterson found himself on the outside looking in at the NFL Combine, forced to show off for NFL teams at the Texas A&M pro day.
Like fellow UDFA Demond Washington, Patterson has seen some action on the other side of the ball. He worked with the offensive line for a time before moving back to defense.
Patterson played inside at Texas A&M, but at 6-foot-4, 293 pounds, he should find himself playing both end and tackle in the Kansas City Chiefs defensive system. Most of the All-Big 12 honorable mention’s pro day numbers stack up well against former No. 3 overall pick Tyson Jackson, though he’ll want to adapt a bit quicker if he wants to stick with the Chiefs through the preseason.
