The Kansas City Chiefs have officially listed QB Matt Cassel as questionable for Sunday’s matchup with the St. Louis Rams, the team announced Friday. However, reports from CBS Sports paint the picture of a player ready and able to start.
QB Matt Cassel was on the field and taking a full turn in practice Friday morning, increasing the odds he’ll play Sunday in St. Louis. Compared to practices Wednesday and Thursday, Cassel threw the ball with more velocity in the period where the workout was open to the media.
Ladies and gentlemen, I give you the Chiefs starting QB against the Rams.
The team can talk all they want about “evaluation” all the want, they will have done a huge disservice to their team if Cassel was not capable of playing. Brodie Croyle clearly needed much more time running the offense before he and the coaching staff would feel comfortable. So if there was any real “question” about Cassel’s status at this point, Croyle would be getting a whole lot more run with the starters.
This is an amazing feat by Cassel and one that will hopefully rally the team against a Rams squad that is also in a must-win situation.
