Kansas City Chiefs QB Matt Cassel finds himself in a familiar spot: replacing an injured Tom Brady. This time around the time off for Brady is planned, but will keep him out of the Pro Bowl on January 30, according to WCVB’s Mike Lynch.
A stress fracture in Brady’s right foot will keep him from playing in the game at Aloha Stadium in Honolulu.
Brady will be replaced by Matt Cassel of the Kansas City Chiefs, Lynch reported.
Brady is expected to have surgery on his foot on Thursday at Massachusetts General Hospital.
One down and two to go (Tamba Hali, Brandon Flowers). If all three of those Chiefs are able to represent the AFC I think we can scratch off all of the obvious snubs. At the very least, Cassel and Hali should have been no-brainers but better late than never, right?
After a less-than-stellar (to put it nicely) showing from Cassel in front of a national TV audience last week, it is a good opportunity for the Kansas City QB to leave NFL fans with a better image going into the 2011 season.
Good to see Cassel join Dwayne Bowe, Jamaal Charles and Brian Waters in Hawaii.
