After missing two practices due to an appendectomy, Kansas City Chiefs QB Matt Cassel returned to the field on Friday. However, according to Kent Babb (and his camera) the signal caller was not suited up.
Matt Cassel is with the team in the indoor facility, but he’s not practicing. Just watching Brodie Croyle take snaps in individual drills.
Technically, this would seem to keep the door open to Cassel playing according to what Haley said in his press conference yesterday.
“I think the policy is that you have to have some semblance of practice.”
Standing around in sweats isn’t much, but it would fall under the umbrella of “some semblance”. With that said, all signs point to Cassel sitting out this week with an eye on making it back for next week’s game in St. Louis.
