The Kansas City Chiefs have released their list of 8 inactive players for today’s game against the Broncos in Denver.
WR Dexter McCluster, S Kendrick Lewis, FB Tim Castille, S Jon McGraw, S Reshard Langford, LB Corey Mays, LB Justin Cole, DL Anthony Toribio.
This means Donald Washington will start at safety and Ricky Price, fresh off the practice squad, is active and will play. With the way Denver can throw the ball, it’s looking like it could be a long day in the defensive secondary for the Chiefs. There must be a very real — and unreported — injury that Langford is dealing with to still be inactive. He had been dealing with an ankle injury, but has not been a member of the injury report as of late.
Curious to see Mays replaced in the lineup by veteran Mark Simoneau who only recently joined the Chiefs. Mays has taken a huge step back after playing a big role for Kansas City last season.
Look for young Jackie Bates to play the role Washington had been filling, as an extra corner and occasional safety now that Washington is moving into the starting lineup.
The shuffling at fullback continues. Last week Mike Cox was inactive, Castille was in and Kansas City couldn’t get going running the football. Now Haley has decided to go back to Cox and leave Castille inactive.
