Tamba Hali Second Chief In NFL’s Top 100

When the NFL Network first counted down the Top 100 players last season, the Kansas City Chiefs had five players make the final cut. With the 2012 edition starting to wind down, it doesn’t look like the franchise will be able to match that number.

LB Derrick Johnson was the first Chiefs player to get the nod, coming in at No. 78 after not being on the list in 2011. Johnson was joined on Wednesday by fellow-LB Tamba Hali, who landed at No. 34.

Hali made a well deserved jump from last season when he was voted the 64th best player in the NFL. He found himself sandwiched between Carolina Panthers WR Steve Smith at 35 and Chicago Bears RB Matt Forte at 33.

The current Chiefs on last year’s list we haven’t heard from are S Eric Berry (93), WR Dwayne Bowe (45) and RB Jamaal Charles (33). G Brian Waters (67) also checked in last season, but played for the New England Patriots in 2012 and has yet to make an appearance on the Top 100.
