Baldwin Nominated For Rookie Of The Week

After just his second game in the NFL, WR Jonathan Baldwin has been nominated for the Pepsi NFL Rookie of the Week.  The first-round pick caught five passes for 82 yards, including a 38-yard touchdown.

Voting is open now and will run through Friday at 11am Arrowhead time.

Baldwin will have to beat out four other players for the honor, including the top pick in the draft.

Marcell Dareus – Buffalo Bills

Dareius had 2.5 sacks and four tackles to help shutout the Washington Redskins 23-0

Cam Newton – Carolina Panthers

The NFL’s top pick had another fantastic game, throwing for 290 yards on 22-of-35 passing including three touchdowns as the Panthers came up short against the Minnesota Vikings 24-21.

Christian Ponder – Minnesota Vikings

Ponder helped the Vikings take down Newton’s Panthers with 236 yards and a touchdown on 18-28 passing.  In picking up his first win as a starter, Ponder took care of the football by not turning it over once.

Titus Young – Detroit Lions

Young caught four passes for 66 yards and a touchdown.  His 41-yard touchdown provided gave the Lions a 7-3 lead that they would never relinquish on their way to a 45-10 destruction of Tim Tebow and the Denver Broncos.
