Just because the Kansas City Chiefs picked up their first win last week doesn’t mean that they will be treated any different by the oddsmakers in Vegas. After being a two point underdog at home to the winless Minnesota Vikings, the Chiefs once again will be getting points from a team that has yet to find a way to pick up a victory.
This time it’s the Indianapolis Colts and their 0-4 record that are favored over the Chiefs. The line opened at just one point, but quickly rose to three.
The Chiefs opened the season as 5.5 point favorites over the Buffalo Bills before being underdogs against the Detroit Lions (9), San Diego Chargers (15) and Vikings (2).
Indianapolis put up a fight against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers last week on Monday Night Football, nearly pulling off the upset behind first-time starter Curtis Painter at quarterback. There isn’t yet word if Painter will stay behind center or if Kerry Collins will once again get the start in what could end up being a critical game in the search for Stanford QB Andrew Luck’s future team.
Much like last week, this game against the Colts presents a rare chance for Chiefs fans to bet on their team. Even though they are going on the road, you have to feel confident getting points against a team that doesn’t know how to win without Peyton Manning.
