If you were looking to put some money on Sunday’s huge game between the Kansas City Chiefs and St. Louis Rams, you are going to have to wait at least another day. With Matt Cassel missing the Chiefs 31-0 loss to the San Diego Chargers and no news regarding his status for this week, there has yet to be a line established for the Chiefs-Rams matchup.
Sure, you can get some sort of action with your bookie at the local deli, but I’ve yet to find a legitimate sportsbook that has established a spread for the game. Bodog, SportsInteraction, Cesars, MGM? All have the game off the board.
Even after Wednesday’s practice when more information starts to trickle out, the uncertainty of Cassel’s availability will likely keep things volatile right through Saturday.
No matter who is under center, expect the Chiefs to be the underdogs. If things look promising for Cassel to play, I would expect to the Rams to be 5 point favorites. However, if the starter is looking to be sidelined again that number is likely to be closer to 7.5.
St. Louis might only be 6-7 and fresh off of a blowout loss of their own — 31-13 to the New Orleans Saints — but they are 4-2 at the Edward Jones Dome while the Chiefs are just 2-5 on the road.
All eyes — from Kansas City to Vegas – will be focused on the Chiefs first practice in preparation for the Rams on Wednesday in hopes of getting an update on the world’s most famous appendix.
