After using a league extension to sell enough tickets to avoid a blackout of their home opener, the Oakland Raiders failed to sell enough this week and will be blacked out.
Per NFL blackout rules, the Raiders game against the Broncos may not be broadcast on television at any living room, sports bar, or media affiliate within 75 miles of the Oakland-Alameda Coliseum.
Wow. Unfortunately I can envision the Chiefs falling short of a sellout this season and being blacked out if the losses keep piling up but it would never be against a division rival. Ever.
It has to be so disheartening for the Raiders after they steal a win from the Chiefs in Arrowhead and then they can’t even fill their own building against a hated rival. It doesn’t get much worse than that in the NFL.
