On his way to continue the rest of his NFL training camp tour, Peter King wrapped up his thoughts on the Kansas City Chiefs potential in a video for SI.com.
It should come as no surprise to Chiefs fans that King leads off with the player that will be leading the team’s offense onto the field on September 11th.
“If Matt Cassel doesn’t lead this team to a successful offensive season, he’s not going to have anybody to blame but himself. Because the weapons on this offense: the top rated running game last year in the NFL, both Charles and Jones are back and they’ve got another home run hitter in their offense who’s learned the system after another year in it, Dexter McCluster.”
King also identifies run-stuffing NT Kelly Gregg as a key to the team’s pass rush. A rare solid primer for the season from a national writer.
