The Kansas City Chiefs path back to the top of the AFC West just got a whole lot more difficult. The Denver Broncos have signed QB Peyton Manning, according to multiple reports.
Manning immediately makes the Broncos the team to beat in the division and maybe all of the AFC. Denver was able to win a playoff game in 2011 without any semblance of a passing attack and will now how one of the best to ever play the position.
So far this offseason the Chiefs has mostly focused on the offensive side of the ball, something that will no doubt need to change now. In addition to beefing up the front line, Scott Pioli needs to find a way to improve at cornerback beyond just Stanford Routt.. The loss of Brandon Carr will really be felt now having to face Manning twice a season.
This move also signals the end of the short Tim Tebow era in Denver. With several teams struggling to sell tickets around the league, there shouldn’t be any shortage of suitors for the fan favorite.
