Following the Chiefs 17-13 preseason loss to the Vikings, Matt Cassel met with the media. Here are the highlights:
On the game:
“Well, it was a tough, hard-fought game. We went out there and played well at times, but then we had too many mistakes in the end. The game came down to the fourth quarter; we had a chance in the end and we were proud of how we came back and reacted in the end. We had too many mistakes in the end.”
How comfortable are you with these receivers?
“You know I am getting more and more comfortable. We had a few weeks of training camp, but I am still getting familiar with the offense. It’s a new offense and there are new players around us, so it’s a process like I said.”
On his running ability:
“You know, sometimes you just get out there and run around…It’s called survival.”
Now that training camp is over, what are your thoughts?
“I think we are excited. We have got a long way to go, but we are making a lot of progress. We’re automatically responding and this team has showed a lot of promise, but there is obviously a lot of work to be done. We will get back on the field next week and continue to build up and get ready for the first week of the season.”
