Charles, Houston Upgraded On Latest Injury Report

The Kansas City Chiefs got plenty of good news on the injury front Thursday with both running back Jamaal Charles and linebacker Justin Houston returning to practice.

Charles missed a day of practice for the second time in as many weeks thanks to severe blisters on his feet. The man that makes the Chiefs offense go anticipates to play and if he continues to be bothered by these blisters, it would make sense to give him an extra day to rest going forward.

Even bigger than Charles getting back on the field is the return of Houston. Not because he’s more important to the team, but because of the injury. The team feared the linebacker suffered a concussion after taking a shot to the neck/head area but has yet to show any symptoms. He still hasn’t been cleared to play in a game, but getting back to practice is a great first step.

The rest of the Chiefs injury report on Thursday looked similar to Wednesday’s. Linebacker Dezman Moses was added, but all the other players had the same status, including wide receiver Donnie Avery and punter Dustin Colquitt being limited. Both are expected to play, but we should keep an eye on their should and knee, respectively, as Sunday’s game moves along.

Running backs Rashad Jennings and Darren McFadden both continued to be limited Thursday for the Raiders. Just an educated guess, but I would think Jennings will get the nod Sunday while McFadden is given another two weeks (with a by coming up) to rest.
