The Kansas City Chiefs have listed WR Dexter McCluster on their injury report simply as having limited participation in practice, though it would appear the focus over the next few weeks will be “limited” and not “practice”. 610 Sports’ Nick Wright is reporting that the shifty rookie will be out “multiple weeks” and has updates on two other Chiefs injuries.
SCOOP- Dexter McCluster has a high ankle sprain and is likely to miss multiple weeks, Ryan Lilja has a broken thumb but will play
Also, Mike Vrabel has a dislocated finger but will play.
Losing McCluster for any length of time is a blow to the offense. With his ability to turn in a big play anytime he is on the field, the Chiefs will be losing a huge weapon even down to him being used as a decoy. Dwayne Bowe has had a couple nice weeks, but there is no depth behind him.
I don’t remember seeing Lilja come up lame at any point in the Jaguars game, so he could have been playing for a long stretch of that game with the injury. Talk about tough as nails.
Speaking of tough… Vrabel is the only player other than McCluster on the Chiefs that left last week’s game due to injury, but he never took his head out of the game. He was running onto the field during timeouts without his helmet just to give Andy Studebaker direction and now he’s just going to wrap the fingers together and get back out there and play.
