San Diego Chargers Re-Sign Kris Wilson

The San Diego Chargers have a number of key players that are restricted free agents, but it is an unrestricted free agent (and former Chief) that they have taken care of first.

Per a league source, veteran tight end Kris Wilson has agreed to terms on a two-year deal to stay put with the Chargers.

The six-year veteran appeared in every game in 2009, his second with the Chargers.  He previously spent four years with the Chiefs.

Wilson only caught 4 passes last season, but when you play behind someone as good as Antonio Gates you aren’t going to get a whole lot of looks in the passing game.  He should enter training camp second on the depth chart and could finally live up to the potential that led the Chiefs to make him a second-round pick in 2004.
