Sean Ryan Heads To Tennessee

Former Kansas City Chiefs tight end Sean Ryan has found a new home.  The free agent signed with the Tennessee Titans.

Ryan has started 15 career games, appearing in 53, with 26 catches for 240 yards and two touchdowns.

The 6-foot-five-inch, 260-pounder spent last season with the Kansas City Chiefs, appearing in 10 games with eight starts while posting career-highs with 14 receptions, 135 receiving yards and two touchdown catches.

A former Dallas Cowboys fifth-round pick in the 2004 NFL draft, Ryan has also played for the New York Jets, Miami Dolphins, New Orleans Saints and the San Francisco 49ers.

Last year after four games, Ryan was the Chiefs leading receiver.  But if you watched the games you realize that was more of an indictment of the Kansas City passing attack than Ryan’s ability as a tight end.

On his way to becoming the Chiefs leading receiver early on, Ryan was also a penalty waiting to happen.  His failure to consistently get the job done blocking pushed him to the inactive list and then eventually the unemployment line.
