The Kansas City Chiefs have waived WR Jeremy Horne and moved FB Shane Bannon to the practice squad injury list.
With first-round pick Jonathan Baldwin finally healthy and able to play, the Chiefs were expected to make a move at wide receiver. Both Horne and Jerheme Urban were healthy inactives against the Oakland Raiders and Todd Haley decided to keep the veteran over the second-year Horne. Considering Horne’s special teams play and age, it’s surprising he was the one sent packing.
Bannon was a seventh-round pick for the Chiefs this year but never made it past final cuts after the preseason. He has already been added, released an added to the practice squad so far this season, so at least we now know his shuttle between free agent and the PS is over… at least until 2012.
By the end of Wednesday we’ll have two new Kansas City Chiefs players to talk about.
