Six Chiefs Held Out Of Practice

The Kansas City Chiefs first injury report of the week is out and it doubled in size from last week, when just five players were included.

More troubling than the overall number of players on the injury report is how many — six — were unable to practice in any capacity. Leading that group are starters Jeff Allen, Brandon Flowers, Derrick Johnson and Ryan Lilja.

There’s no combination of those players the Chiefs can be without and feel good about their chances against the Browns in Cleveland even after such an impressive performance last week against the Carolina Panthers.

The Chiefs will also be keeping a close eye on Branden Albert, Eric Berry, Tamba Hali and Kendrick Lewis, who were all limited. Albert dressed last weekend, but rookie Donald Stephenson still played in his spot and Berry left last week’s game, but returned after getting treatment. Lewis wasn’t able to play against the Panthers due to his shoulder injury.

There are seven players on the Cleveland Browns first injury report, including star running back Trent Richardson, though he was a full participant and shouldn’t have any problems playing against the Chiefs Sunday.
