With the first game of the NFL season coming up this weekend, some players that made the cut with the Kansas City Chiefs had to get some important business out of the way: switching numbers. Josh Looney reports from Arrowhead today that three Chiefs players changed their digits to go along with the two that made the switch yesterday.
S Mike Brown switches from #48 to #30
CB Ricardo Colclough switches from #30 to #23
TE Jake O’Connell switches from #45 to #85
The trio join recently acquired T Ryan O’Callaghan, who is wearing #75. LB Pierre Walters switched from #67 to #97 yesterday.
Brown wore No. 30 his entire career in Chicago, so that change makes sense.
23 has a special meaning across all sports, so in that regard it’s a good switch for Colclough. He previously wore 21 with the Steelers.
O’Connell wore 83 in college, but that number currently resides with Mark Bradley.
