It doesn’t happen too often, and I have heard plenty of it since it happened today (Blind. Squirrel. Nut.) but it seemed today that I had my crystal ball working perfectly during Sunday’ game.
The Titans had just scored in the second quarter to make it 24-7 Chiefs. The next Kansas City drive stalled at the Tennessee 30, forcing Ryan Succop to attempt a 47 yard field goal. The kick was right down the middle, but just a yard short, giving the Titans — who were getting the ball back after half — a chance to get right back into the game.
That’s when I looked deep into my crystal ball on Twitter.
Ryan Succop a yard short. Ugh… D will have to answer with a pick six.
Second play from scrimmage for the Titans? Eric Berry steps in front of a Kerry Collins pass and takes the interception 54 yards to the house for a nail-in-the-coffin touchdown.
I’m thinking of holding my crystal ball out of action until the Chiefs first playoff game.
What do you think? “Hmm, McCluster didn’ take the kickoff to the house. Guess Jamaal Charles will have to rip off an 83 yard touchdown now.”
It could happen.
