Training camp is only a few weeks away, but Thomas Jones will have the spotlight on him a little early as the special guest at “The Soul of Coal”, an event honoring the diversity in mining in West Virginia.
This unique event will honor Roosevelt Lynch and Joel “Jody” Price, two African American miners who recently lost their lives in the Upper Big Branch disaster, as well as the rich history of diversity in the mining community in Southern West Virginia while raising money for the Roosevelt Lynch Scholarship Fund.
With special keynote speaker Thomas Jones, NFL player for the Kansas City Chiefs and son of a coal miner, this will surely be a memorable event you won’t want to miss.
Jones’ mother raised him and his six siblings while working at a coal mine, so it’s safe to say that he has a special connection to this charity. This certainly won’t be your typical public speaking engagement for him.
Hard to find a better way for Thomas to spend his time before heading off to St. Joseph for training camp.
