Could one of the biggest question marks of tonight’s NFL Draft not be a question mark at all? The agent for Tim Tebow has told ESPN.com’s Johnette Howard that he knows where the Florida QB will be drafted.
No, really. Sexton claims he knows.
“Yep,” he said.
So, Sexton was needled, will it shock the world?
“I don’t know if it’s gonna shock the world because I always thought he was going to do well,” Sexton laughed. “But we pretty much know. We have a pretty good idea what’s going to happen.”
That’s quite a claim considering that leading up to the draft, the debate about Tebow’s destiny has been the NFL’s version of a total solar eclipse, blotting out nearly every other name and topic in play.
A while back I suggested the Chiefs grab Tebow if he were still available in the third round. With his stock on the rise it appears he will off the board in the first round tonight.
In the never ending discussion regarding his future in the NFL, you can count me among those that believes Tebow will be a success at the next level as a quarterback. But with the amount of holes that the Chiefs have there is no need to bring him on board with anything short of that third round selection.
He will be an asset to any locker room, but if Tebow is going to be a first round pick he needs to go to a team that knows they will need a new starting quarterback in a year or two and that the departing starter will be a willing mentor.
To me that spells one team: Minnesota Vikings at No. 30.
