Six Chiefs Upgraded On Latest Injury Report

The Kansas City Chiefs injury report this week is the longest it’s been all season, but there was plenty of good news Thursday with six players upgraded.

Of all the players upgraded, leading the way are Jamaal Charles, Brandon Flowers and Kendrick Lewis. All three were unable to practice on Wednesday, but were on the field in a limited capacity Thursday.

Charles is fighting blisters on his feet, something he played through last week. Getting him back on the field is huge for a Chiefs offense that cannot do what they want without him. Flowers sat out last week and is likely to still be questionable when the final injury report is released. His running mate in the defensive backfield, Lewis, was able to play despite a sprained ankle against the Giants and his ability to practice Friday will tell us a lot about his status.

The Chiefs were also able to upgrade two starters on the offensive linemen — Jon Asamoah and Rodney Hudson — from limited to full participants. Four of Kansas City’s five starting linemen are still on the injury report, but with only rookie Eric Fisher unable to practice (and unlikely to play because of a concussion) they should be in good shape for Sunday’s matchup with the Titans.

Tight end continues to be hit hard by the injury bug with rookie Travis Kelce unable to practice, while veteran Anthony Fasano continues to be limited. Sean McGrath was limited on Wednesday, but has been bumped up to a full participant and there’s no reason to think he won’t be able to play this weekend.

For the Titans, they didn’t see any change in their injury report with five players unable to practice, including former Chiefs defensive lineman Ropati Pitoitua.
